Stroll through the Saint-Georges-les-Bains national forest and marvel at its lush vegetation and hidden treasures, which will delight young and old alike.
Description
- Saint-Georges Centre From the tennis court car park at the exit of Saint Georges, head towards Vernoux and enter the village. Take Rue des Lavandières, which runs parallel to the road. On your left, you will see the village's old wash house. Further on, turn left onto Route de Pierre-Malle.
- Pierre Malle Head towards Gilhac and Bruzac, following the tarmac road that climbs through the forest.
- Le Moulin This building, on the right-hand side of the road, is an old mill. Continue towards Col de Rotisson, following the road to the hamlet of Entreilles, which was an important crossroads on the only road from Charmes to Vernoux.
- Entreilles Take the path that climbs to the left to the hamlet of Fialez. At the entrance to the hamlet, take the path on the right that leads back to the entrance to the Planèze wind farm. At the CNR information signs, take the track on the right to the next crossroads.
- Le Grand Bois Leave the wind farm by taking the path down to the right. The view opens up onto the Turzon valley on your right.
- St Georges Forest Continue downhill on the main forest track.
- Flandrin At the wide junction of these forest tracks, go downhill to the right towards the village.
