Around Boffres, let your steps lead you from fortified house to fortified house, where each building reveals centuries of history. Between ancient stones and panoramic views of the Ardèche, heritage is yours to discover in a setting full of charm and authenticity.
 

On this route along small country roads, châteaux and stately homes reveal themselves along the way. Between forests and country lanes, every turn offers magnificent panoramic views, such as the private residences of Cachard and Tardivon, inviting you on a journey to the heart of the Ardèche's heritage.

Description

  1. Church: After taking a panoramic photo of the church square, descend to the right of the hiking signpost via the cobbled path until you reach the village exit.
  2. After the Boffres sign, leave the D219 on the left. You will cross an old, densely wooded chestnut grove. You can see the chestnut trees that were planted on the terraces. You will pass through numerous hamlets named after the families who lived there: Trappier, Béguet, Sallier, until you reach the hamlet of Fauriel.
  3. Turn left at the hamlet of Foriel and cross the D219 towards Tardivon.
  4. Tardivon: Go up the tarmac road following the signs for La Chabannerie. Take the path on the right that runs alongside the hamlet of Les Béguettes. The view opens up on the left over the hills of the Ardèche to La Chabannerie.
  5. La Chabannerie: Head towards Lantéry on the right via the wide forest track, which offers a view of Château Cachard. An alternative route is possible by following the direction of Boffres via Noyaret (500 metres shorter), but without the view of the château.
  6. Lantéry: follow the château fence on your left until you reach the Vassel signpost.
  7. Vassel: Climb towards Noyaret.
  8. Noyaret: Take the path on the left that runs along the ridge between forests and tarmac roads.
  9. Le Chateloup: On your left, follow the D332 and take the first path on the left which leads to the hamlet of "Faurie", then take the tarmac road to Toussaint.
  10. Toussaint: Continue on the D332, then take the path that descends to the village.
